Team Knollenberg cleans up Royal Oak's Memorial Park for Earth Day

Congressman Knollenberg and a team of volunteers headed to Royal Oak's Memorial Park on Saturday to clean up litter and debris as part of the city's adopt-a-park event.

The volunteers, together with Congressman Knollenberg, canvassed the park to fill bags with trash and yard waste to help make the park a cleaner place for everyone to enjoy.

Earlier in the day, Congressman Knollenberg attended the Oakland University Earth Day Expo, where students, families, homeowners, and business owners gathered to learn about healthy and earth-friendly living.

The event also focused on alternative and renewable energy, an issue that Congressman Knollenberg has strongly supported in Congress. Last year, Congressman Knollenberg voted to expand investment in alternative energy while also securing funding for an experimental solar-powered home designed by Lawrence Tech students.

Momentum Continues to Grow Toward Knollenberg Re-Election

Congressman in strongest ever 1st quarter financial position

BINGHAM FARMS, MI - Thanks to overwhelmingly broad support from across Oakland County, Congressman Joe Knollenberg's campaign announced today that it has raised nearly $2 million through March 31 and maintains its highest ever first quarter cash on hand.

The campaign raised over $400,000 in the first quarter of 2008, has over $1.3 million cash on hand, and has raised just shy of $2 million in this election cycle. All combined, Congressman Knollenberg enters the 2008 election with more support than ever before.

"Representing the hardworking men and women of Michigan's 9th district is a tremendous honor, and I'm humbled by their incredible outpouring of support," Knollenberg said. "There's more work to be done for Oakland County's families, and I'm focused on continuing to deliver results."

Knollenberg's campaign manager, Mike Brownfield, says that the campaign's outstanding fundraising momentum means that voters are serious about re-electing Congressman Knollenberg because they can see the good work he's doing.

"Oakland County's families are rallying behind Congressman Knollenberg because they know he's fighting on their behalf," said Brownfield. "From creating jobs and growing our economy to providing high-quality schools, Joe Knollenberg is focused on producing results for Oakland County's families.

Congressman Knollenberg assembles care packages to help support our troops

As part of national Support Our Troops day, Congressman Knollenberg joined with Americans across the country in paying tribute to our hard working active duty men and women in the military.

Congressman Knollenberg celebrated Support Our Troops day at Waterford Kettering High School on March 26. On the following Saturday, he and his wife, Sandie, helped pack care packages in Pontiac for our troops overseas.

Recently, the House of Representatives passed Congressman Knollenberg's resolution creating Support the Troops Day, which calls on all Americans to join in a moment of silence to honor U.S. active duty forces.

"Every day, our troops around the world stand on the front lines in defense of our freedom," Knollenberg said. "These heroes of today deserve our respect, our admiration, and our thanks, which is why I'm so proud that America now has a special day dedicated to honoring
their contributions."

Alexandra McGregor, a Waterford, Mich., high school student proposed the Support the Troops Day concept to Congressman Knollenberg two years ago and since then has worked to help make sure that the holiday be established.

Knollenberg Campaign Raises $1.45 Million

Campaign posts strongest non-election year numbers ever

BINGHAM FARMS, MI The Knollenberg for Congress Committee announced today that it raised $1,452,289.86 through the end of the 2007 cycle, making for one of the campaign's most successful fundraising years since Congressman Joe Knollenberg was first elected in 1992.

Congressman Knollenberg, who represents Michigan's 9th district and stands for re-election in November 2008, continues to amass an impressive campaign war chest in order to ensure victory on Election Day. The Knollenberg campaign raised the most money it has seen since 2002, a particularly strong showing for a non-election year, during which time candidates typically raise fewer dollars.

According to Knollenberg's campaign manager Mike Brownfield, the campaign's significant fundraising success shows that voters are serious about sending Knollenberg back to Congress.

Oakland County knows good representation when they see it, and voters here know that Congressman Knollenberg is a strong voice for them in Congress,” Brownfield said. “Oakland County's families want a stronger economy, more jobs in new industries, affordable health care
and better education. And they know that Joe Knollenberg is getting things done in Washington to make that happen.”
